Pile in the car and come be part of the sled team at Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue’s Petco Day this Saturday March 21, 2009, from 12-4pm. Spend the day or simply a few minutes burying your fingers in plush Siberian Husky fur or rub soft silky Alaskan Malamute ears.

Petco South is located at 7565 US Highway 31 South, on the east side of US 31 between Southport Road and Stop 11 Road, just south of Wal-Mart.

square-logo-807f-jpeg2Northern Lights is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to advocating for and the rescue of stray, abandoned, displaced or abused dogs; in particular, northern breed dogs facing euthanasia in Midwest/Great Lakes region shelters. Our goal is to place Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and northern breed mixes in loving, experienced, and secure homes with people who understand and celebrate the unique characteristics of their breeds.

Events for the day will include:

  • Northern Light’s $10 microchip. Pet owners feel free to bring in your dogs or cats and have them micro-chipped. This invaluable form of ID can help them get home even if they lose their tags.
  • Meet rescue dogs looking for a fur-ever home.
  • Education about Northern Breed dogs and how rescue operations work
  • The opportunity to get involved in rescue and help save a life.

Here a few of the quest stars, who have agreed to make an appearance, at Petco Day this Saturday. However, if there is someone you want to meet, shot NLSDR an email and we will do our best to see that they come for a meet and greet.
